                                          Idaho QSO Party

The Idaho Qso Party was held at the Riversedge RV Park. Because of high water we were concerned if we were going to be able to use the group site but it was okay. We had a good turnout with Bob, W7RLS, Rob, KK7ZI, Alan, W7ADM, Craig, KD5ODQ, Nancy, KF5WQJ, Deb, KE7TMF, and John, KD7HGS, participating in the radio fun. We also had two visitors, Bill, KD7FDW, and his wife Linda, and Dave, KI7DZD, come down for a brief time to visit. We set up the Army tent with the stove to keep warm, especially Saturday night and Sunday morning. At least the weather cooperated and there was no rain during the weekend. Alan did CW and again, was the heavy hitter for us. The bands were poor and SSB voice had only a few contacts. Digital PSK did fair with some across country contacts and a contact with the HP club in Horseshoe Bend on 40 meters. Out score was 6666, but since we had several Oklahoma contacts we probably will be lower.

As usual we had lots to eat. Bob fixed fried catfish and fish and chips for lunch Saturday and a Shepard's Pie for dinner, all in cast iron. Other people brought in scalloped potatoes, salads and desserts. As usual, we had more than enough to eat.

Our biggest concern was the rising Snake River. During our three day stay it probably rose 2 feet. Since we were camped next to the river we were prepared for a fast getaway if necessary. The next two pictures shows how much the river rose. The stick in the first picture was completely under water the next day. Deb put a second stick in which is shown in the second picture.
