Snake River Amateur Radio Club     Canyon County, Idaho      Grid: DN13

For the 7 Land QSO Party we were at the Cottonwood Campground on CJ Strike Reservoir. The wind wasn't as bad as last year but on Saturday we did have thunderstorms which caused us to disconnect radios from antennas, turn off our generators and head for the cover of our RV's. The storm didn't last very long and we went back to work making contacts. We had 12 digital contacts and 88 phone contacts for a total of 100 contacts and a claimed score of 5936. We had five hams there: Bob, W7RLS, Don, KC7U, Craig, KD5ODQ, John, KJ7YY, and John, KD7HGS.

Below, John, KJ7YY, working his older Kenwood HF Rig making 40 meter contacts. He had a home made 40 meter antenna and did not have to use an antenna tuner.

Don, KC7U, and Bob, W7RLS, assembling a satellite antenna. Don purchased the antenna while in Arizona this year and is waiting to try it out at Summer Field Day. Good luck Don.
