      Tech Day III 2023

Our third Tech Day of the year was held on July 8th at the Hubler terminal at the Caldwell airport. Along with the techie-geeky stuff, we also hosted a Ham license testing session.

^^^ If you get there early enough, you can eat breakfast undisturbed.

^^^ Other than breakfast, Coffee and donuts are always mandatory.

^^^ Debi, KJ7QZJ and Mike, KJ7QZI, our VE coordinators, set up the test session.

^^^ Bob, W7RLS sets up the soldering station. He spent several hours soldering PL259 plugs and connectors for everyone.

^^^ One tech doing the work, two supervisors to keep him distracted. That's about normal for us. In spite of the "help", Bob only burned his fingers once.

^^^ Lots of stuff for sale on the "yard sale" table. Everything from vacuum tubes to HF rigs.

^^^ Fred, KI7BCL, is trying to get his laptop to run three screens at once for his FT8 station. He eventually got all three programs to work together.

^^^ All in all, it was a pretty successful day. Everybody got something positive accomplished. All the test takers passed their tests. All the soldering got done. All the donuts disappeared, and Tony got his breakfast. We look forward to seeing all of you at the next event. 73!
